Tiger Cub Found Hidden in Suitcase at Suvarnabhumi International Airport
Security workers at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport found a sedated tiger cub hidden in a suitcase.

The two-month-old tiger cub was stuffed in a suitcase belonging to a man headed for Iran, and was hidden among several plush animal toys.

So far, it is unclear if the tiger was captured in the wild or bred in captivity.

"If people are trying to smuggle live tigers in their check-in luggage, they obviously think wildlife smuggling is something easy to get away with and do not fear reprimand," Shepherd said. "Only sustained pressure on wildlife traffickers and serious penalties can change that."
