Tornado warning for Alabama

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for a large part of Alabama, and central, eastern, and southeastern Mississippi.

There is a possibility of tornadoes this morning and there could be damaging winds this afternoon. By later this afternoon, the National Weather Service expects the threat to transition to heavy rain and floods; even Flash Flood.

In Mississippi the Flash Flood Watch includes the following counties: Jasper, Kemper, Lauderdale, Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee, Scott, Smith, and Winston until 6:00 PM; and Wayne until 12 PM. In Alabama, the Flash Flood Watch includes the following counties: Choctaw, Clarke, and Washington until 12 PM.
