Tropical Storm Isaac Weakens, Still Dumping Rain & Flooding Gulf States
Isaac has weakened from a hurricane to a tropical storm, but is still very dangerous. Tropical Storm Isaac is moving very slowly through the middle of Louisiana, and its winds continue to stir up storm surges of up to eight feet. Tropical Storm-force winds extend nearly 200 miles from Isaac's center. Below you can see a live map of Tropical Storm Isaac's progress, as well as video footage of the damage left in its path.
Aside from storm surges, 40mph winds, and heavy rains (up to 25 inches overall in some areas), Tropical Storm Isaac also presents the chance of tornadoes along the Gulf Coast and lower Mississippi River Valley.
