After extreme high temperature and humidity before the storm , rain has increased as Lowell moves in closer, streams in the desert are flowing. La Paz and Los Cabos are with no reported damage. The alert is to follow Lowell's progress in case it changes course or stregthens. According to the maps it's right over us now, it's not windy at all, just rain.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida has issued a tropical storm watch for the Southwestern coast of California's Baja peninsula.

Lowell is moving toward the north-northeast near 6 miles per hour with a turn toward the northeast with a gradual increase in forward speed expected on Wednesday. On this track...the center of Lowell is forecast to approach the southwestern coast of Southern Baja, California late Wednesday or early Thursday.

Forecasters from the National Hurricane Center predict that by Thursday what's left of the storm will pass over the peninsula, causing even more weakening before it continues on into the mainland of Mexico.

patgarcia, I like this story. It's good stuff. I hope Lowell and Ike don't join up over Texas.
