Tsunami detectors to be installed in eastern RI provinces

Manado (ANTARA News) - Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) will soon install around 13 earthquake and tsunami detectors in the eastern Indonesian provinces of North Sulawesi, Gorontalo and North Maluku, Manado BMG spokesman Subardjo said here on Friday.
"The installation of the detectors started earlier this year and is expected to be completed by next year," Subardjo said, adding that some of the devices had already been placed in Tahuna in North Sulawesi, Ternate and Labuha in North Maluku.
In addition, Subarjo said the detectors were also being installed at Marisa, Boalemo, and Kwandang in Gorontalo province and at Bolaang Mongondow and Dumoga in North Sulawesi province. (*) END
