My heart ache & hurt because of the devastation my people are experiencing @ the moment. But rest assure that there is a God & he will deliver us from this devastation. We are strong & close knitted human beings, & we will pick up the pieces & start rebuilding. There is always a calm after the storm. May God bless those who lost everything & loved ones due to this disaster.

Oh I am so sad...I am thinking of the beautiful people I met in 2003 when I visited Western Samoa...Rita and Romeo at Lalomanu who had beach fales, Mari the Canadian and Kueva and Fao Fao Beach Fales in Saleapaga, The Alailimas (Fay [who wrote "My Samoan Chief"] Kilali) where I stayed off and on in Apia....Sam who drove the Green Turtle bus around the main island, John Poynton the artist, Marietta Alaifatu, and Marietta's aunt Fia Tui, whose husband Mel Tui recently died and Fia returned to Samoa...After I left the island there was a typhoon and the beautiful island was left a mess...but this tsunami...Oh what has happened and where did this wave hit exactly...did it hit on the side where Lalomanu and Saleapaga are? What happened in Apia? Oh I am so sad! What happened in Savai? Oh how can I find out! What is left of this beautiful island and how many died....oh....Here are some pictures of better days www.bethfridinger.com/samoa

I have set up a special PayPal donation site to help the Legalo family of Saleapaga, who operated FaoFao and lost everything in the tsunami. Here is the link: copper.wnmu.edu/~jostm/faofao.html . Please repost and distribute, and thanks.
