NP Rank:
Twister in Toronto

I've just had reports that a twister came to Toronto last night.
My brother is out there 'on holiday' at the moment and I have contacted (well, in reality, pestered and begged) them to upload some photos on here.
He is supposed to be coming to Britain soon. According to Silvakaran, NP contributor, the airport is still up and running. It was a surprise as I didn't hear the news here until this afternoon on Facebook, I was expecting 'the usual boring holiday photos' not them being involved in a bloomin' tornado!
In the meantime, I've told him that it's raining in Kent, which is a bit dull.

My brother came home yesterday despite the tornados and hurricane.
Here is what I managed to find out:
He was at a baseball match. The weather before the match was perfectly fine: sunny with some cloud.
There was no warning whatsover. Everyone was going about their business.
He was at the baseball match in Toronto (v Boston).
He heard a loud thunderstorm, huge winds that sounded like a 'washing machine' (probably with noisy bits in it like wood, and other rubbish). In the baseball game, there were were no windows. He had no clue that there was a tornado outside. Play slowed down a bit but not much. No one abandoned it. It didn't touch down.
The noise finished after 20 minutes. That was it. Gone! When he walked out it was 'pretty wet' and the clouds were clear again.
Otherwise, he had heard that Bloor had one tornadot ouching down and rumours were circulating that there were up to six tornados (only one in Bloor though).
He said that 600 homes were damaged. I am not sure where exactly.
My brother completely missed the hurricane.
