Typhoon Pedring Floods Philippines: Video

Typhoon Nestat (also called Typhoon Pedring) is sweeping past the Philippines, bringing widespread flooding and mudslides. Over 100,000 people have gotten evacuation orders, due to the size of the storm, which has sustained winds of over 80mph. Domestic flights and ferry services have been canceled to and from Luzon.

A typhoon has the same criteria for classification as a hurricane, but is called by a different name in the western Pacific.

NDRRMC and Office of Civil Defense (OCD) chief Benito Ramos identified the six fishermen as Leopoldo Nidea, 37, Doikyam Degula, 35; Oliver Degula, 28; Francis Basqouinia, 23; Danilo de los Santos, 29; and Domingo Harold, 16, all of Barangay Caranan, Pasacao, Camarines Sur.
