Yeah, how big is it now ? Geologists are often wrong about the time frame of these events. They often seem to happen quicker than they predict. Like the event that happened in Somalia in one year, that would supposedly take 1 million years to form

wow! This may be a silly question, but was this eruption anticipated? Japan may need that extra land one of these days.

Not sure Katfish, think Japan could use some land now. Although with global warming the ice halves of a lot of their islands will perhaps be habitable soon.
