on Monday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or
injuries.

The Japanese Meteorological Agency said the quake had a
magnitude of 5.9 and was centered 40 km (25 miles) deep under
the sea off the coast of Fukushima, a prefecture around 240 km
(149 miles) northeast of the capital, Tokyo.
Television pictures showed shaking streetlights but
Japanese media said no injuries had been reported in the area
and the agency said there was no tsunami risk.
On a Japanese scale that measures the effect, the agency
said the earthquake measured four out of seven -- a level of
shaking that may frighten people and cause hanging objects to
swing but is unlikely to result in major damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey put the quake at magnitude 6.2.

This Breaking News will follow with updates as more reports are coming in.
Iwaki is home to a population of 357,309 people, with Industrial and Agriculture as their main economies.
It should be noted concerns were made on Japans Nuclear Reactors and their ability to withstand earthquakes of any magnitude.

Thanks Vinnie, I was in progress of downloading that exact information you just provided, hahaha, but I have posted nuclear reactor locations around the earthquake zones. I remember news reports a couple of years ago about Japans nuclear reactors and concerns they are not stable in earthquake zones. So it will be interesting to see how they stand up as a test case to gauge how to similar reactors around the world including Canada. Hopefully they will stand up.
