At about five past five just after getting up this morning we had another strong Earthquake here in Chiba Kent, this one was of a force 6 on the Japanese scale wish goes from 1 to 7; 7 being the strongest possible. Magnitude 6.6 wish means a lot of rattling and shaking and things moving. This is a powerful earthquake and could have caused some serious damage.

It seems we just had two earthquake from what I can hear over the Speakers.
From what I can see and hear so far, every thing is still standing and well. As I see it, we are fortunate so far.

At 6 15 Am a Tsunami warning has now been issued.

At least 43 people have been injured due to falling object and so far 4 Casualties have been reported as well. Further, over 9000 homes are still with out power.
The Nuclear Power Plant have been shut down as well.
Trains are still delayed in Tokyo and Chiba Prefecture.

Some serious damage is being reported now through NHK and some land slides covered the Tome Highway in part, building have been seriously damaged as well.

Rattled my cupboards... twice! It's funny; I can always "hear" the big ones coming 3-4 seconds in advance of the "hit". That's not really possible since I believe the shockwave moves faster through the ground than sound does through air so I suppose it must be some sort of attenuation of the structure that makes the distant rumble effect.
