Upload a picture of your Christmas tree - help save the forest
Upload a picture of your Christmas tree to the site 'World Christmas Tree 2008' and you can help save a piece of the planet yourself so that we will have more Christmas trees for years to come.
We display ads on our site to enable us generate money which is then donated to the World Land Trust who use it to buy land to conserve forests. World Christmas Tree 2008 follows the 80/20 rule meaning that 80% of the revenue generated is donated to the selected charity project. The remaining 20% are used to cover our overheads, invest in improving the site, and create new sites promoting the sustainability concept.
We have roughly calculated that for every uploaded Christmas tree photo we are able to donate enough money for the World Land Trust to conserve one square foot of forest. The World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation organisation that takes direct action to save rainforest and other biologically important lands. World Christmas Tree 2008 is inspired by Freerice and Onefoot projects

Hi! This is the eye of Hanna who very much appreciate christmas trees. When she was a kitten she even climbed them until they fall. Nowadays she´s wise, just sitting on the windowsill dreaming about the deep forests. ;-)

Great idea, amyjudd, so my xmas tree is reusable and works since 2 years natural on solar and LED lighting. The alternative of Gov Schwarzenegger, his Christmas tree powered by a fuel cell

hello in xmas!
i see that 111 xmas tree pictures are added to this article by now..but only 2 on the site that saves forests for those pics. i would encourage putting some effort of sharing there as well cos that makes some change!
peaceful holidays to you all and let's save some more forests these days!

There are two pictures of my parents' Christmas tree. I had them on Flickr and was asked to put it on NowPublic for the benefit of a website trying to conserve forest lands. http://www.nowpublic.com/environment/upload-picture-your-christmas-tree-help-save-forest

I only just realized that uploading the photo to this story doesn't actually help, you also have to upload it to the website that the description points to. I wish that had been a bit clearer, and I hope not too many people made the same mistake as me.

I just tried to upload my picture to their website but they wouldn't accept my email as valid. I'm pretty much done with this story.
