The Washington and Vancouver Island news services were warning residents about the possibility of late night gusts but there was little mention in the local Vancouver news about tonight's wind storm. As of 4am PT, the city is being pounded by some big winds coming out of the East. There will likely be trees down when the sun rises. Here is a SCAN on the topic.

Our power was out on E. Vancouver Island by 2:30 am. Gusts were recorded at over 100km. BC Hydro crews had the power back on in time for coffee. Kudos to them.
