Eco Housing for the Homeless

Most countries biggest problem is housing the homeless, but Canadian’s are being helped by a new government initiative

The Homelessness Partnering Strategy is providing $269.6 million over two years to help communities across Canada combat homelessness more effectively.

The Strategy helps prevent and reduce homelessness in Canada by fostering and promoting partnerships between all levels of government and community organizations, with the Findmyway.ca Community Network program being an excellent example of partnership.

Aim!
the Findmyway.ca Community Network that help vulnerable Canadians find the information and services they need to improve their lives, to become more independent and to enjoy a better quality of life."..........

Thanks liamssoft, considering we live in one of the best countries in the world, homelessness is just unacceptable. I spent some time in Kingston, Ontario (statistically one of the richest areas in the country) and the youth homeless rate was incredible. And they only had 1 youth homeless shelter that was open part time.

And this is with 12 year old kids living on the streets.

I think one of the biggest obstacles for the homeless is the bureaucracy of social assistance. Severe sleep-deprivation, hunger, and a largely structureless daily routine can make well-intentioned social programs well out of reach for people who need it most. Hopefully this program will help make that transition a little easier.
