Arizona Wildfire: Wallow Fire Surpasses 300,000 Acres
The Wallow Fire has become the second-largest wildfire in Arizona state history, reaching 311,000 acres at last measurement. The Wallow Fire is uncontained, and more towns have been put on pre-evacuation notice. (Wallow Fire map and updates)
Residents of Springerville and Eagar have been told that they will have to evacuate their homes if the Wallow Fire gets much closer. Over 2,500 people are involved in fighting the wildfire.
There will be a community meeting at the Springerville High School auditorium on June 7 at 6pm. The Apache National Forest is closed to visitors.
