Snohomish County experienced some serious flooding that KO'd over 40 roads including major routes. State Route 530 located between Interstate-5 and Arlington was closed. Earlier today, a dike ruptured and the river took advantage of it and ran a new course across the farmlands then out to the Puget Sound.

The City of Stanwood and crew built sand berms along SR 532 to fortify the downtown business area. It was said that the Stillaguamish River will crest at 30 feet tonight 1/8/09.
