According to the California Highway Patrol there has been several weather related vehicle crashes. The storm that brought thunder and lightening is being called the first significant storm of the season.

According to the California Highway Patrol there have been several vehicle accidents on Los Angeles roadways. One such crash occurred on the Ventura 101 Freeway in the vicinity of Balboa Boulevard. A Ford SUV struck a concrete barrier in the westbound lanes of the 101 Freeway and rolled over across some of the lanes. This occurred in the area of westbound Foothill 210 and the Freeway at Pennsylvania.

panzerlawyer, I like this story. It's good stuff.

In the UK  I have noticed that despite it pouring with rain, with large puddles everywhere, motorists seem to go just as fast as ever. They may not understand the dangers of aquaplaning and skids. As a cyclist, I regularly  notice the sirens around on sunny days as they rescue people on the bypass. I feel sorry for the emergency services who have to attend these type of accidents, because it puts their lives at risk too.
