Western Sydney, Illawara Flash Flooding: Video

Western Sydney and the Illawara were flooded after heavy rains pounded New South Wales. More heavy storms are predicted, even as the western suburbs bail themselves out.

Over 30 people have been evacuated via rescue boat, and thousands are cut off by rising floodwaters. Penrith alone got 113mm of rain on February 9. 150 racing greyhounds had to be evacuated as well.

About 5000 people remain isolated in the north-west of the state, including the towns of Mungindi, Collarenebri and Wee Waa, AAP reported.

The NSW north-west towns of Lightning Ridge, Walgett and Goodooga will be isolated within days, stranding about 6000 people, the SES told AAP.
