Where There's Smoke, There's Fire | Photo 02

This is smoke from the Terrace Mountain forest fire (the mountain seen in the foreground is not Terrace Mountain). This fire is located in a rather remote area with few, if any, buildings threatened. Notice that smoke and ash rise and then are blown to the right (north-east) while a water vapour cloud (from moisture released as the trees burn) is formed above the fire.

UPDATE
Only a day or two after the taking of this photo, the fire had grown by several times its size and several thousand people had been evacuated from their homes. No houses have been lost but the fire is out of control.
