Activity is revving up into high gear at the eagles' nest by Jericho Park in Vancouver. One of the mates is always down in the nest incubating the eggs, with the other never too far away for too long. They will call to each other and switch at random intervals throughout the day, giving the one that was sitting still a chance for a bit of a fly-about, to stretch it's wings and get some food.
Yesterday I happened to be at the park with my camera to witness this; I got some great footage of one of the eagles grabbing a quick lunch!
The egg(s) are expected to hatch in a couple of weeks . . . the adults will be even more active from then until the end of July with the ceaseless job of feeding the ever-hungry, growing eaglets.
