Cabo San Lucas, México.- The two fires that occurred in the area of the estuary of San Jose del Cabo, could have been caused by people who are interested in ending the nature reserve and sell the land.

This was revealed by Francisco Flores González of the National Forest Commission (Comisión Nacional Forestal).

He said he’s still investigating the recent fires in the Palmar of Santa Rosa "which was presumed to have been caused by people interested in promoting the occupation and sale of that land or for the subsequent legalization, after the change of land use."

The migratory bird sanctuary and nature reserve of Los Cabos, was subjected to a pair of big fires that destroyed 20 acres of palm trees.

So far, authorities have not found the arsonist. But they say that they will continue investigating this serious matter
