Snow storms are covering the the central United States, including Iowa and Oklahoma, which were being hit the hardest.  The snow fall has already caused major delays and closures and is expected to get worse:  Snowfall is supposed to increase to 1 to 2 inches per hours which should increase the base an additional 3 to 6 inches by sunset.  Total accumulation is expected to reach 10 to 14 inches in Iowa and Oklahoma.

Overnight tonight, things will become worse, with heavy snow likely as well as very strong wind.  Blizzard conditions will be occurring tonight.  Travel should be kept to a minimum tonight and Wednesday morning, and if you do decide you have to travel, you need to carry a survival kit with you.  If you go off the road tonight, or get stuck somewhere, help will be slow to arrive, if at all - it's extremely important to carry this kit.

Ended up with 12"-18" here, depending on where you are exactly. About 16" at the house. Winds were kicking 40-45 MPH over night...bad enough outside the city that the pulled the plows off the roads for about 5 hours.

Done now tho - suns out, wind died down. Time to shovel!

No snow in downtown Toronto at all and it's December 20th!! Wierd seeing green grass here but if you get in your car and north for about 15 or 20 minutes there is noticebale snow on the ground! An hour north in the higher elevations there is soo much snow it's not funny! Ontario is a strange place that's for sure!!
