Wood Storks

I saw these yesterday on my way to Mayport Village. I thought they were some kind of stork but wasn't sure till I got home and looked them up in my book.

They are on the far side of a tiny pond. The pond isn't very far from the street. At the other end of the pond are some condos. I guess the cars and people don't bother them.

I'll have to get back on a sunny day to see if I can get decent pics. It was a lousy day to take pics. It's worse today.

I was afraid if I didn't take their pics then that the next time I went by they would be gone, but they look pretty content there.

I wonder if the people who live in those condos know how lucky they are to have such magnificent birds so close. If I lived there I'd be observing them everyday!
