World Farm Animal Day or World record Killing Machine Day?

By Uwe Paschen.

Now today is a day designated to Farm Animals World wide and to my surprise little is done about it in matters of advertising of promotions, even less in matters of awareness or Education.

Of course there are the usual Farm Shows and trade shows, also the odd Village Parade here and there, yet no government speech other then the odd Agricultural Minister at the odd Farm Show sowing off the newest and biggest of Farm Machinery and Computer Software.

In the Media, rather little as well if any thing at all. Children shows with fuzzy cute little baby lambs and Calf's or the odd cartoon of The Disney Barn Yard with nice little Chicks following Mama Hen around the yard, how nice.

What about the reality though, After all is this not WORLD FARM ANIMAL DAY?

Well, world wide about 100,000.00 Farm Animals get Killed every single Minute, yes every single Minute for our pleasure. Now part of me says well we have to eat and we are omnivore so eating Meat is okay and part of our reality.

On the other hand what about Animal welfare and they rights? After all, it is World Farm Animal Day, so we should at least give it some though for a single day.

Are we not ultimately supposed to be good stewards of our life stock and environment? Well, I do not thing even though it may be cost effective, yet, is the way we treat our Farm Animals around the World acceptable?

Picture, the meat you eat coming from animals that where born and raised in large Farm operation, without ever seeing the Sun, nor breathing a breath of fresh air in the life time. Always Laying in their own filth and the day they go to the sloter  house they get pronged with electro chocks so they would move faster and not rebel, after all time is money and the trucker has to be paid by the Hour.

Then They come into the sloter house and have to walk into a hallway with a major belt cove-or where they get Zapped with 1000 Volts at High amperage and fall over dead, Being Cut up into pieces and processed to out dinner plates!

What a way to go and serve Humanity. Now we do not treat Plants or insects much better either, especially for the past century our disregard and disrespect for life and other creature has almost vanished.

Are we that simple minded and shallow? Well I suppose we are seeing the numbers and knowing how the large majority of Farm Animals get treated.

Who is to blame? The Farmer? The Consumer? The Middle Man? The Politician? The Bankers? The Media? The Individual? It is always some one else's fault, is it not?

I think every one is to some extend guilty of what is happening nowadays, And we may want to remember that today on this day that is dedicated to Farm Animals World Wide.

I hope that today at least we will abstain from eating Meat or should I say Tortured Animal Carcasses.

Well, Happy World Farm Animal Day to all. Enjoy the Hot Dog wile your visiting one of the many Farm Show or Fairs orgenized for the Occasion.

Well, Yes there are better ways of producing food and with more respect and better Ethical rules. Some do so, however those are by far to few and are getting fewer not more. The great Capitalistic Machine has destroyed much and corrupted even more. I am not against Capitalism, however I am not in favour of this sort of destructive and unethical form of capitalism, tat has for sole objective profits with out ethical values nor respect for the Environment. I have been producing Meat, Honey, Milk, Cheeses, Vegetable and Fruits for a long time and know it is worth wile doing it Ethically and with respect to life and for life.

All things may have a soul, since they also all have energy and there for life.

Thank you for the read, Comment and flag here SOLARLIFE, I do Appreciate it.

I don't agree with the mass  slaughtering that they do.  I have seen it never want to see it again very sad and sickning. I do eat meat but now it has gotten less and less the older I get. I grew up in the country I watched my grandparents kill everything we ate. They grew all the vegetables we ate also. Sad those days are almost gone, we need to bring back the farmers. There is so much waste when it comes to food in the US it's not even funny. I really like this Paschen

Thank you for the comment CJ, from the sound of it, your Grand Parents Farmed with Dignity and respect towards their environment. The waste and mistreatment as well as the lack of respect for our food does anger me as well and yes, It is not funny at all.

They did, it was the way we lived back then it was all we knew. If we could only go back those were the best days of my life. People had respect back then not now.

Well, It is certainly the occasion to reflect on this and maybe we should reinstate some basic values and ethics concerning our food.

There is a very interesting place in the Badlands of SD.  The indians who are esteemed for their caring for so called mother earth used to cause stampedes of bison making thousands run off the cliff.  They then would go to the bottom of the cliff and take a few dead animals, leaving thousands to rot.

You may confuse a few facts in history here, the European American did that in deed, the Native American did not even have Horses Until the European came to the Americas.

Further the Word Indian is no longer in use since it was wrongfully given in the first place referring to India since Columbus believed having discovered the short route to India.

Generalizing is always dangerous and some what lacks credibility.

Thank you for the comment Bill.

This makes me want a huge medium rare chateau briand soaked in cabernet for one hour, sprinkled with crushed garlic and grilled over an open fire served with roasted mushrooms and a grilled baked potato.

Thanks for posting on this. I couldn't believe the countdown on the website about how many animals are killed every minute - it was more than I expected - maybe that it naive of me.

I am going to try and not eat meat today.

Paschen, I like this story. It's good stuff.  Great story!  I have maintained for a long time that those who wish to eat meat should be required to kill, clean and cook an animal -- not necessarily a steer, a chicken would do.  Then people would understand and better appreciate what the act of eating meat entails.  If people could be made to understand that that slab of meat in the supermarket was once a thinking animal, they would have more respect for what they eat.  I am an omnivore and I think Bill H's menu sounds great as long as the steak is blood rare.

Well i beilive that people shouldn't eat them they are animals that never did nothing to any one.

We are animals and for us to be animals they don't eat us we are mamals and animals are to. It said to see what happen to them have you ever see a aniamls cut up, taking away from it family. What if that was you how would you feel.  People is sick and wrong for cutting them up and people is wrong for eatting them.
