Yellow Jacket Wasps A Nuisance in Hot Weather | Photo 02 by Barbara McPherson

This is a beginner nest in my greenhouse. The yellow jacket wasps are busy making egg chambers to raise more workers. While they kill many garden pests, they are also aggressive and sting painfully.

These wasps are very aggressive and protective of their "space" ... which I consider also to be my space. I've already sprayed two different nests during the evening, but have had to call in an exterminator to help find the remaining nest.  I can't even get to my front door.  Guests must arrive by the back door to the house.  And to make matters worse, my husband is HIGHLY allergic to venom when they sting.
