After reading the following Environmental Impact of JAXPORT on Jacksonville and studies conducted at numerious other ports you would think Jaxport would take the Publics Health more seriously, but then again when Money is involved Jaxport would go to any length to cover its tracks and leave law makers with the bill to clean up the ports.

Ports are also cause of environmental pollution and create negative externalities such as: congestion and noise (Bailey and Solomon 2004; Giuliano and O’Brien 2007). The literature reveals numerous case studies of confirmed port related pollution issues. These are related to air quality and water contamination (Capaldo et al. 1999; Casado-Martinez et al. 2009; Corbett and Haveman 2005; Coussens 2004; Drake et al. 2007; Esslemont et al. 2004; Fleming et al. 2006; Greenport Vol. 1 and 2 2008; Isakson et al. 2001; Lena et al. 2002; Lewis et al. 2001; Lin and Lin 2006; Lucas 2007; Ricciardi and MacIsaac 2000; Saxe and Larsen 2004; Thomas et al. 2007; Tolosa et al. 1996; Wu et al. 2009). The St. Johns River has been ongoing for well over twenty years when will the Port read the writings on the wall and be held accountable for the fish kills and the algae blooms around Jacksonville.

Please Call the Mayor's Office and demand Action or Email him to clean up the Port.
