Evaluation
As part of FHA’s clinical family planning training program in Afghanistan, trainees undergo a rigorous evaluation process in order to receive a certificate of completion. Trainees consist of female Afghan midwives and doctors from more than ten different provinces in Afghanistan. The curriculum includes infection prevention methods, family planning methods and counseling, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS education and prevention. The program’s evaluation process includes a pretest/post-test where knowledge is measured at baseline and is compared to knowledge at the end of the training, and a clinical skills assessment where the level of skill during clinical work with a patient is measured. Further, in order to assess the outcome of the program and to enable Family Health Alliance to improve its future programs, a course evaluation and a trainer evaluation tool is used.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />A significant increase in knowledge and skills level was gained by the Afghan health providers during this training program. An increase in trainee knowledge (from 53% on the pretest to 89% on the post-test) and an average score of 86% on the clinical skills test was achieved.

Family Health Alliance, I think your story has potential but needs some improvement. I've got a few suggestions, and if you give them a try, I'd be happy to remove this flag.
I wasnt sure what was being 'evaluated' in this story. What program is this, and where, and who takes it? What do they get/do when they pass?
It can really help ify ou follow the old "W5" news formula -- making sure you have answered the questions: Who? What? Where? When? And Why? (You might want to check out our J-Tips for more help.)
