So it goes for Falwell. I linked to this story because of the way that Reuters framed it. The perfunctory news, facts just facts story runs down the main column. They have a couple of good interviews -- with his physician and with David Brinkley -- establishes a sense of authority.
My students might well have only a vague notion of who Falwell was. But there, on the right in the sidebar are CONTEXT LINKS to a "Factbox" and to "Instant View" where we the v/users (viewer/users) can jump in with comments if the spirit so moves us.
So, I can say with a sense of
double entredré, this story by Reuters presents us with news we can use.
U.S. evangelist Jerry Falwell, a leader of the religious right who battled in the political arena against abortion and homosexuality, died on Tuesday after collapsing in his Virginia office.
