In the final game in this season's series
of friendlies between NSNO and Liverpool website This is Anfield ended
in a 4-4 draw after a dramatic comeback from the blues which sees the
series ending all square.

Played in some of the worst
conditions imaginable, the NSNO side got a glimpse of the future as a
venue change saw the team run out in Blue and White striped shirts (ala
Tesco carrier bags) in, believe it or not, Kirkby.

The NSNO team
also wore black armbands in memory of Evertonian and friend of the
site, John Parkin, who died last weekend after attending the NSNO End
of Season party.

Depsite early pressure, it was the reds who
took the lead from a speculative shot from the edge of the box through
a crowd of players, but NSNO kept the pressure on.

It was This
is Anfield who scored the next 2 goals though, as the breakaway play
from defence caught the NSNO boys out every time - although it has to
be said that the TIA keeper kept them in the lead right up until the
final minute of the first half.

"The Cat" in goal for NSNO
launched a huge clearance which took a Paul Robinson-esque bounce over
the head of the Kopite keeper to draw one back and give the Blues hope.

After
a brief break, the Blues pushed forward further, but as the pitch
became more and more water-logged it was the reds who saw their
long-ball tactics edge them one more infront, but not before they had
missed a penalty.

The stage was set then for the comeback and
with Liam and Emo pushing hard in the midfield, the Blues dragged one
back instantly when Rhys calmly slotted home.

Two stunning
strikes from Liam, clearly not liking being beaten by the Kopites, drew
the Blues level with seconds to spare at the end of the game.

A
big thanks to the This is Anfield lads, and a big "Get Well" to Chronic
who we packed off to hospital with a dislocated shoulder during the
warm-up. With one win each and a draw the series between the two sites
is level for this season, but stay tuned for the start of next season's
battle at some point in August!
