The Associated Press NEWARK, N.J. - A former Tenafly councilman was sentenced Tuesday to five years probation for possession of heroin. Jeffrey Romano, 43, pleaded guilty in May. As part of his plea, Romano was required to forfeit his council position. He also will be required to perform 150 hours of community service.
