Expectations or Common Ground?

Last weekend I had planned to mow my lawn and spray for weeds for the first time this spring. I’m a lawn care kind of guy so I was really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. By Friday, the weather forecast had changed to possible showers for Saturday. Although disappointed, I changed my schedule around to take care of chores that did not involve yard work.  How many times have we found ourselves in a similar situation with the people in our lives? Have you ever planned a special event with someone you care about only to have the plans washed away unexpectedly?
