'The Race Course' Northampton. Hidden away behind Victorian and Edwardian facades lies Northampton's 118 acre Jewel in the crown.

'Here is your chance for something good to be made in this wonderful open 118 acres space,
located in the heart of Northampton. The home of the Northampton
balloon festival and countless other sporting activities.
The
main attraction required to my mind is adequate disabled and normal
public toilet facilities. The Portable cabins used on festival days are
not pleasant and are very costly to hire.
The other missing feature is a boating lake, the nearest one in Billing Aquadrome is miles away.

MASTERPLAN for the future of Northampton's Racecourse has moved a step
closer, with an ambitious group of residents calling for bids from
experts to pull together a map for the park's future.
The masterplan, to be funded by part of a £137,000 grant from The
River Nene Regional Park, will be a foundation for all future
improvements to the park and will be used to attract funding for
projects to open it up to even more visitors.
Northamptonshire Racecourse Healthy Living Hub Ltd, which was set up
by the Friends of Northampton Racecourse (FONR) and is overseen by a
multi-agency partnership board hosted by the Chronicle & Echo, has
put together a tender brief to find the best consultant to draw up a
strategy for the future of the park.[/q]
