There is an excellent article in Newsweek on-line that traces what one hopes will ultimately be the unsuccessful tactics of global warming deniers.
This summer, Texas was hit by exactly the kind of downpours and flooding expected in a greenhouse world, and Las Vegas and other cities broiled in record triple-digit temperatures. Just last week the most accurate study to date concluded that the length of heat waves in Europe has doubled, and their frequency nearly tripled, in the past century. The frequency of Atlantic hurricanes has already doubled in the last century. Snowpack whose water is crucial to both cities and farms is diminishing.

Those who believe in global warming are like those proclaiming the advent of the apocalypse. An irrational need for attention and self aggrandizement expressed with an unusual vigor to prove their veracity is the common characteristic of a modern day environmentalists. It used to be entertaining, now its plain annoying.

There is a difference. Those who believe in the Apocalyse are relying upon faith and interpretation of religious texts. Those who accept global warming base that belief on science and verifiable data.

I could argue that global warming supporters also rely on faith/false hope and that this 'science' is as plausible as those religious texts.

And you make this assertion based on what?

Throughout our planet's history one of the few things we can conclusively point to is that climate has always changed markedly. The science is not in on this especially as it relates to carbon. Annoying indeed.
