FAC's CaBOOST Project Pulls into the Station
The Fishers Arts Council's "CaBOOST the Arts" project has
arrived at the Fishers Train Station (in the Thomas Weaver Municipal Complex)
and is available for the public to view. CaBOOST features 10 fiberglass
caboose statues that have been designed, decorated, and painted by local and
regional artists.
The caboose-display will be through the summer months and will culminate with
the FAC's "Fishers Arts Day" on September 15, 2007.
"Fishers Arts Day" will feature three intertwined events, all of
which will be located at the Municipal Complex:
- Art
in the Park - From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., more than 30 visual fine artists of
all kinds will be on hand to display and sell
artwork.
- An
Affair of the Arts - From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Fishers Arts Council will
host a reception featuring a
silent auction and the official unveiling of the FAC's 2008 project. The event will be hosted
by WISH-TV personality Angela Buchman. Tickets for the event are $10 and can be purchased at the
Fishers Arts Council's Web site, www.fishersartscouncil.org. All tickets sold will be considered a
donation to FAC and will help secure
additional funding for future FAC projects.
- CaBOOST
the Arts Live Auction - Drawing the evening to a close, the Arts Council will hold a live auction
for the five remaining Gold-sponsored cabooses.
