Falcons disgraced QB VICK fought DOGS in my tiny VA hometown!!

When new NOWPUBLIC contributor, former music journalist and current manager of several prominent rock bands Chris "Hot Rod" Long went to the mailbox today- little did he expect to find out that his former tiny VA hometown was the supposed site of some of disgraced and dismissed Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick's BAD NEWZ KENNELS dogfights.
The cover story on Blackstone Va's ( pop appx 4550) The Courier Record- ( the towns only weekly fishwrap) pointed out that documents filed in the case- being held just 60 miles to the North in Richmond Va's federal court- indicate that the ONLY town named was in fact Blackstone Va.
Court Documents quotte that the BAD NEWZ ( supposedly the street/gang name for Vicks former hometown of Newport News Va) Kennels held fights "in New Jersey, North Carolina South Carolina Blackstone Va- Maryland and other states"
Long- real name Christopher P Ellington- is in a state of shock- as it "pains me to think that something so cruel was happening in a place that is so dear to me......... the place where I spent the first 19 years of my life, where my parents and many close friends still live- and a place that is where I choose to spend my Christmas holidays, and the place where eventually I will retire"
Located in the Southern Peidmont region of the state- appx half way between Raleigh NC to the south- and Richmond to the North-Blackstone lies along the route of Confederate Genreal Robert E Lee's retreat. " Lee's retreate and the fact that Robert (Jones 3 time superbowl champ as starting MLB of the dynastic Dallas Cowboys of the 1990's) was born here( he and Long graduated together in 1987)-- those were kinda cool things to have associated with the tiny little town where you grew up-- but now this!!!!

Although Long claims to be a member of "THE OTHER P.E.T.A.( People for Eating Tasty Animals) he still considers "dogfighting to be one of the cruelest things that a human being can do that does not involve hurting another human being. We can only hope that- when all of the truths in this case come out- that Blackstone was named incorrectly- even though it looks right now that is doubtful. But as foul as I find this- I am going to let the criminal justice system work before I pass judgement on Vick- or anyone else involved in this case."
