May 20, 2007 Virginia - A fire destroyed two vacant houses in the city's southeast neighborhood early Saturday morning, but firefighters managed to keep the blaze from engulfing a third house occupied by a couple and their two teenage daughters. Newport News firefighters responding to the fire on Oak Avenue found three homes on fire, said Dana Perry, fire department spokeswoman.
