Family breakfasts at Tiffany's

The Scherer family of Carmel waited months to cash in on the special prize package they purchased at an auction last May.

Their high bid, and no one was telling how high that bid was, benefited Riley Hospital for Children, where Dr. Tres Scherer is a surgeon.

The prize package involved two relatively new ventures in Indianapolis: Tiffany & Co. and the Conrad Hotel.

Scherer and his wife, Joan, spent Saturday night at a Conrad Hotel suite. Sunday morning, the hotel's Rolls-Royce chauffeured the couple to a special Breakfast at Tiffany's, served long before any of the Fashion Mall shops opened to the public.
