A few things to improve mankind.

Before I begin, bear in mind that I am not a scientist nor a highly educated person. However, I do study and read a lot online which I do believe has helped my educational level.

So today I just wish to voice some opinions about what mankind should be doing. We continually waste time and resources in fighting each other. I strongly believe, as a race, we have matured to the point that violence is not necessarily the answer and we should be focusing on things that would begin to advance our civilization. Edit: Of course, before we can begin to improve ourselves, we first need to improve the condition of our planet's ecosystem, governments, cure diseases and hunger.

One theory that I have thought about a lot is folding space, not necessarily for space exploration purposes, but for Earth travel. Because folding space over large areas of space is said to create time travel, short distances as from Beijing to New York would (or should) have little to no effect on time travel. Having special gates which fold space would allow people to travel anywhere in the world in a matter of minutes (or seconds).

As far as my research in this subject has gone, we haven't yet devised any technology that we could utilize this potential and we should be trying to do so. Reason being, our world is becoming globalized. These days, people travel the world almost every second of every day. Think of the time we are wasting sitting on boring 14 hour flights, stuck at airports and poor flying conditions. Folding space could eliminate the dangers of airplanes and not to mention the worst of it all.. losing your luggage!  Technology is moving, but it seems that it's too slow for the demand of our people.

I have also been reading up about transporter technology as well and I think that we may be going in the wrong direction with that. Transporters require large amounts of energy and the storage and transportation of matter, but folding space is (if we can harness it) is a natural phenomenon because it uses wormholes. Thus less power may be needed to use on a global scale.

I envision smaller cities with gates leading to bigger ones and bigger gates going to any city in the world. Simply put, four trips through a gate could possibly get you to any point in the world. Perhaps maybe even the moon!

Other such ideas that would be beneficial to mankind would be the use of antimatter. Although antimatter is extremely dangerous, there is little to no pollution required for it's operation and the output of energy would be far more than the nuclear plants currently being used.

The idea of nano technology seems scary, but could be useful in the areas of medical and scientific research and development of new materials.

I hope that someday, everyone on this planet will try to do what is best for the future of our race rather than fighting over what is left of it. It's true, if we don't learn to get along better, there won't be a future to enjoy!
