Renovated home, Holy Cross, Lower 9th Ward, New Orleans - March 24, 2007Completed in part via the Preservation Resource Center, New Orleans. Holy Cross sits between the Miss. River and St. Claude and Ave.. It suffered extensive flooding in the wake of Katrina and subsequent flood protection system failures. The area is a National Register Historic District. Renovations such as this are underway throughout the area, so the house on the left does not by any means represent an isolated case (although suffice it to say that heavily damaged homes still abound as well).
