Fire Destroys Apartments

March 27, 2007 New York - An afternoon fire that apparently started on a kitchen stove Sunday gutted apartments in a Broadway home in Rensselaer, leaving three families homeless, a fire official said. Firefighters had to awaken one resident in the building's basement apartment, said Rensselaer First Assistant Fire Chief Michael Stammel.
