March 25, 2007 North Carolina - A single-story house was gutted after the kitchen stove caught fire Friday. The fire started just after noon at 1125 Cooks Mill Road in Mebane. Mebane Fire Chief Bob Louis said that the house was fully enflamed when firefighters arrived. Heavy flames came out of the attic from both ends of the house and lapped up over the roof.
