Florida - A shiny, $200,000 Margate-Coconut Creek fire rescue truck, keys dangling from the ignition, proved too tempting for a thief to pass up Friday. It was snatched from in front of a firehouse and abandoned in West Palm Beach after a 40-mile joyride. The caper caused some red faces at Margate Station No. 1, 5785 Park Dr. Firefighters were giving the truck its regular rinse and inspection in preparation for a shift change when they turned their backs momentarily about 8 a.m.
