Fire strikes seafront penthouse Brighton UK
Over £1 million worth of damage has been reported after a blaze struck penthouse apartments in Brighton UK. Around twelve noon plumes of smoke were noticed billowing from the apartments at Brunswick Terrace adjacent to the popular seafront. High winds and dry weather were
a contributing factor to the fire with flames reaching at least 30 feet high. It is believed that two £1 million flats have been completley destroyed with fire damage reported to the two adjoining flats also. Firemen performed an evacuation of 14 flats before they could put the fire out. Ten engines, two aerial platforms, and more than 55 fire fighters from
stations across Sussex, attended the blaze which was bought under
control by 2pm. Saint Johns Ambulance and The British Red Cross were also on hand. Large crowds of onlookers formed on Hove Lawns to watch as the fire
services controlled the blaze. No injuries are reported and the reason for the fire yet unknown.
