April 22, 2007 California - A black rookie firefighter in the Los Angeles Fire Department was allegedly the target of racist vandalism. The Los Angeles Times, citing sources close to the investigation, reported that the man opened his locker and found that someone had smeared white foam on his uniform and other clothing. Barry Mcconaghey, thanks for posting this. We like to think that our emergency services work as a well-oiled machine, fighting only against crime or fires or medical emergencies, and it's scary when we're proven wrong. Good stuff.
