Firefighter Douses Flames With Snow

February 16, 2007 Connecticut - A volunteer firefighter who was the first to arrive at the scene of a Shelton house fire used snow from the lawn to put out most of the flames. On Thursday afternoon, Dave VanWart, a firefighter with the Echo Hose Hook and Ladder Company, was the first firefighter to respond to a blaze that broke out in a two-family house on Murphy Lane.
