February 7, 2007 California - The Marina City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to go it alone and rejected the idea of consolidating its fire department with Seaside's. A large crowd turned out for what council members called a very emotional decision. City officials received petitions signed by about 600 residents opposed to the merger.
