Firefighters Respond To Two Separate Fires

March 5, 2007 Mississippi - A woods fire off 28th Street near the Gulfport-Long Beach line and near the Ladner housing development was reported contained by 3 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters from at least three fire departments and the Mississippi Forestry Commission were still doing backburning at 8 p.m., said Assistant Chief David Allard of the Cuevas Volunteer Fire Department.
