A Seattle based commercial fishing vessel caught a 60 pound shortraker rockfish near Alaska that could be the one of the oldest creatures ever caught in those waters. The 44 inch female was caught in the Bering Sea along with pollock and other smaller fish. Scientists estimate the rockfish to be 90 to 115 years old.

Scientists said the specimen is not the biggest on record. A 47-inch shortraker rockfish was recorded, according to the book "Fishes of Alaska."
