November 6, 2006 A stubborn blaze at a meat-packing plant in the city's west end has escalated into a five-alarm fire. Emergency crews were initially called to the plant on St. Clair Ave. W., west of Keele St., at about 3:45 a.m.. After clearing the scene a couple hours later, they were called back for another fire at the same building at about 6:45 a.m., Staff Sgt. Clarence Cook said.
