Floods kill 22 in eastern China

A summer deluge hit Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province on Wednesday night killing 22 and dumping over 7 inches of rain in 3 hours according to Xinhua (State News Agency). Meanwhile Shanghai recorded its hottest day of the year on Wednesday as temperatures soared to a scorching 38 degrees Celcius.

Twenty-two people were killed when rainstorms hit Jinan, capital of eastern Shandong province, on Wednesday night, Xinhua News Agency said. Six people were missing and 142 were injured. The city and surrounding area received a record 7 inches of rainfall over three hours, the report said. The storm disrupted traffic and cut off electricity and the water supply, the city government said, according to Xinhua.

I don't have any photo's I've taken myself but I'll have a look and see what material I can gather. The footage I saw on Chinese television was impressive to say the least!
